“Discovering Exmoor Ponies” tells the story of a remarkable and very rare pony. Few animals are as enigmatic as the Exmoor Pony. On the one hand, full of natural wisdom and able to live independently in the wild. Yet, once tamed and trained, willing to place their trust in people.
Film-maker Alan Tibbitts spent a year capturing both Exmoor pony worlds, filming on Exmoor and throughout the British isles: free-living ponies in blizzards, torrential rain and soft, summer sun; herds being gathered in from the moors in the autumn; scenes of ponies roaming free against the backdrop of lochs and mountains in Scotland. The film also explores the lives of ponies that leave the wild existence and reveals the wide range of activities they are capable of with people: endurance riding; trekking; showing; competitive and pleasure driving; riding and driving for the disabled; and providing so much enjoyment and fun.

Reviews:
The Exmoor film is very much a brilliant publicity vehicle for this rare breed but even the most knowledgable enthusiasts will surely find things in it that they did not know (The Native Pony)
This film is evocative as well as informative; a good present for any pony lover (Horse & Hound)
Responses:
I sent off for the video when I saw it advertised in The Native Pony - I received it in mega quick time and have been watching it ever since. I think it is fantastic, the filming is beautiful and the information excellent... well done to everyone involved.
..I was able to collect my copy of the Exmoor Pony vidio and when I got it hom ein the evening I sat facinated right through it. You really are to be congratulated on a superb piece of work.
I congratulate the team on such an interesting and professional form of publicity. Although I am hooked on Fells, I grew up on Exmoor. My tiny grandchildren have just got a little Welsh A mare to start on but as they are re-running the film time and time again, they may move onto an Exmoor for the next size up!
